WINTER SERIES Langenberg Lecture: Guide to Edible Plants & Mushrooms
Please join us as Jonah Kappraff, Dickeyville resident, avid gardener and forager shares fascinating information about edible plants found in our local area.
If you love a good walk through the woods or just around the neighborhood, imagine if you could return home with dinner! Most of us know the benefits of cultivating mindfulness while in nature (as opposed to mentally writing that next email!). To the forager, there’s no better way to appreciate the bounty of the land around us than to be able to positively identify plants and fungi that humans have been using for food and medicine for thousands of years.
Prepare yourself to stalk the wild asparagus next spring with this survey of commonly found edible plants and mushrooms of our area along with insights on how to understand the role these plants play in their ecosystems.
WHERE: Church Hall
WHEN: 7:00 pm refreshments, 7:30 pm prompt start for presentation.
