Dickeyville has seen a revival of young families during the past few years and the village is buzzing with renewed energy; both older and younger residents alike.  This has also resulted in the frequent crossing of Forest Park Road at Pickwick Road by residents on foot, on bikes, with prams and pets, all keen to connect with neighbors and attend the numerous village-wide events.

This week a group of village residents met to discuss options for increasing safety at the Forest Park pedestrian crossing.

DCA President Mel Currie and Chair of DCA’s Public Works Committee, Peter Auchincloss listened to feedback from fellow residents Lindsey Anderson and Sheridan Jones McCrae about the desire for traffic calming enhancements to allow easier access between the two sections of Pickwick Road.  This initiative would further unite both sides of the village and also benefit broader community members.

Stay tuned for further updates over the summer after DCA connects with the Baltimore City traffic team to determine the best course of action.
