Village starts monthly Family Meet-Up event

By Cassie Sherman-Marks.

This week, a group of parents in Dickeyville organized our first monthly Family Meet-Up – an event designed for parents and their children to get to know and catch up with each other, to which all neighbors are welcome. The meet-up occurred in the beautiful undercroft space at Dickeyville Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Over the last three years, many young families have moved to the village and the number of children here has skyrocketed – three have been born since last October, with another expected soon.  A similar family group has existed in the village before, but it’s been several years since there were enough young children here to support such an endeavor.

Around ten children and another ten adults were able to come this first time, several of them meeting each other for the first time.  We’re looking forward to many more opportunities for our children to get to know each other, and continue to work together to make Dickeyville a wonderful place for kids.
